Tricia Burbank,
PT, DPT, PRPC

Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner

Tricia did her undergraduate work at Utah State University receiving a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science while she competed on the track and field team. She then  completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at Idaho State University, graduating in 2006.

After graduation, Tricia helped people in multiple environments including orthopedics and cardiac rehab. She was offered the opportunity early in her career to do “Women’s Health” physical therapy, but all she could remember being taught at school was that kegels strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and that patients should be taught to avoid hovering over the toilet while peeing. At that time, she wasn’t prepared to “open that can of worms”. Years later, after having four kids herself and finding a lack of local treatment options for her patients with pelvic dysfunction, Tricia decided it was time to change her mind.

She started training with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. She has a huge love of learning and wants to give her patients the best care that she can. She worked hard to became a certified pelvic floor rehabilitation practitioner.

Tricia now wishes that she had specialized in pelvic health physical therapy earlier. It is so rewarding to see her patients make progress and see how much their lives are impacted as they heal.

Outside of the clinic, you will probably find Tricia spending time with her husband, supporting her kids in all of their activities, hiking, enjoying photography, or training by running, cycling, and weight lifting.

Why Phēnix Pelvic Health

The phoenix bird symbolizes healing and transformation. We believe that each person goes through many different transformations throughout the lifespan. So many of these stages bring about new and exciting changes and opportunities.

Sometimes these changes bring new challenges. As girls transform into young women, some experience pain during their periods. This pain often goes unaddressed and results in so many lost days of school, work, social and recreational activities, and other opportunities.

Many women go through the exciting and life-changing transformation of becoming a mom. This rapid change challenges even the toughest woman. We believe every mom needs support to navigate these changes.

For many reasons, women gradually stop lifting weights, running with their kids or jumping on the trampoline. Some women stop traveling or going out in public without plotting a bathroom route. Other women just plan to leak when they cough or sneeze and wear pads to prevent embarrassment. These compensatory changes begin to become the new normal.

During the menopause transition, women experience changes again and often feel confused about how to best maintain their health and fitness during this phase.

At Phēnix Pelvic Health we believe it is possible for you to face these and other transformations with confidence. We want to provide hope and support so that you can fully enjoy each stage of life. We help you decrease pain, stop leaking, improve your strength and improve your ability to do what you want to do.
